In Philippians, Paul says he thought he was doing everything right, had the right education, the right career. But then, after he came to know Jesus, he counted all worldly things as loss. In fact, he called his own accomplishments “dung” that he may win Jesus Christ.
Through our faith in Christ, we have righteousness, that we can know the Lord, and the power of His resurrection. We need to be free of worldliness, so we can conform unto Christ, and share in His sufferings.
We each have a calling by God. I am a fire starter. I go into darkness and fan the spark into flames. We go and light up the darkness. And many of you are helping start the fire. We are fire starters for God. Light displaces darkness. Shine the light!
