I’m going to dump a lot of statistics on you today. I don’t really know of any other way to make my point.
As an old high school football coach I have heard it repeated that “statistics are for losers,” and there is a lot of truth in that statement. Often losing coaches will look at the statistics after a game…yards gained, yards allowed. Turnovers, first downs. Rushing yards, passing yards. Third down conversions.
It is nothing more than an attempt to find solace in defeat. “Man, we outgained them by 150 yards and still lost to them! We had more first downs, greater time of possession, fewer penalties, and even blocked a punt. How the heck did we lose?”
That is why the old saying…“statistics are for losers” is a truism. You win the game by scoring the most points. At the end of the game the only statistic that matters is the one on the scoreboard.
More times than not, the loss of a football game doesn’t have anything to do with what OUR team did. The first rule of sports is “don’t beat yourself.” I can’t tell you the number of times I looked at the stat sheet after the game and muttered to anyone who was interested, “they didn’t win…we lost.”
There is a difference, you know. The best team doesn’t always win. More times than not the game is won by the team that makes the fewest mistakes. Hence…more games are lost than are won. It is really pretty basic stuff.
So, today I would like to offer some examples as to why Christians are losing so many of the battles. Remember, statistics are for losers…but statistics do often tell the story of the game. I love the old coaching phrase “statistics lie and liars use statistics.”
It is about points on the scoreboard, baby. Not the numbers on the stat sheet. So here you go. I simply “googled” the following information and here are the Barna Research Group stat sheets.
- 85 MILLION Christians did not vote in 2024…only 66% of Christians actually voted.
- Only 61% of pastors preached on “political” issues.
- 52% of churches offered no guidance on moral issues for voting choices.
- Only 24% presented voter guides.
- 76% of Christian voters do not consider abortion when voting.
- Pocketbook issues are number 1 and 2 on the list. Christians love money.
This quote from Barna speaks volumes of the spiritual condition of America as fewer and fewer CHRISTIANS actively engage in “politics.” The following is from Barna’s webpage.
One of the most important findings of the research is the depressed voting intent of “people of faith”. The survey defined “people of faith” as either someone who described themselves as “a person of religious faith” or as someone who associated with some recognized religious faith (such as Christianity, Judaism, Mormonism, Islam, etc.). Based on that filter, 79% of Americans qualified as a person of faith. In total, 66% of Americans 18 or older identified as Christian, thus constituting more than four out of every five adults (83%) who view themselves as a person of faith.
Among those classified as a person of faith, only one-half (51%) indicated they are likely to vote. If the survey statistics are projected on the basis of national population estimates, based on a Census-derived U.S. voting-age population of 268 million and an estimated 212 million adults qualifying as a “person of faith,” the 49% who are not likely to vote in November represents about 104 million eligible non-voters in the “people of faith” segment.
Barna pointed out that a deeper dive into the data shows more narrowly defined segments within the “people of faith” group have different expected turnout rates. Among those are people who are defined by their beliefs regarding sin and salvation as born-again Christians (41 million expected to not vote); self-identified Christians who regularly attend church services (32 million not expected to vote); and voting-age adults who regularly attend an evangelical church (14 million of whom are expected to not vote). The research also indicated 46 million adults who attend Protestant churches and 19 million who attend Catholic churches are not likely to vote. A majority of Catholics (58%) vote for baby-killing Democrats.
Here is the icing on the cake. “Black women continue to have the highest abortion rate, with 28.6 abortions per 1,000 women aged 15–44, more than four times the rate observed among non-Hispanic White women, who have the lowest rate at 6.4 per 1,000.”
Did you get that? Blacks, who make up 14% of the American population, are responsible for nearly a third of all abortions in America. Eighty-six percent of BLACK voters voted for Kamala Harris and a party that wants to abort black children. Permit me to state that again…African American CHRISTIAN Democrats are voting to support the genocide of American black children.
A vote for Republicans is a vote to save the lives of black children. The Democrats are the ones fighting to end the lives of black babies. What would America look like if every Christian voted and all voted to protect unborn children? Red and yellow, black and white, they are precious in His sight. The LEFT isn’t winning. The RIGHT is losing. CHRISTIANS voting to murder unborn children.
God Bless America? Yeah, right. Divide and conquer…oldest trick in the book.
