Description:
In today’s episode Coach centers around the theme of tradition and religiosity. Christmas isn’t for Jesus, we celebrate it out of habit. We celebrate the Christmas spirit more than Jesus Christ. The Christmas spirit is not Jesus. Jesus came to destroy sin; the Christmas spirit is about getting along with our family and giving each other stuff. Not wrong, but disrespectful to God when we claim we are doing it for Him.

Coach et.al is SOOO correct, so Biblical!!! Bless all he and the “guys” do for God and us!
Every September, I go out into the wilderness to do battle with the majestic moose to put some meat in the freezer to get me through the long, dark, cold winter. It takes preparation. I don’t go out into the battlefield out of shape- where I go, I have to be firing on all cylinders; I rely upon my body, mind and Spirit to get me out there and back in one piece.
I’ve learned from experience that if I go into the battle soft, then I’m gonna get my butt handed to me. I know it’s not going to be easy, I expect adversity, that’s part of the game. As I’m going out into battle, I’m praying, “Lord, I’m doing my part; I have prepared, bless me with victory. Be glorified in my day. Amen.”
When I call in Mr. Bullwinkle into the fight, I don’t wonder, “Gee, is my weapon sighted in? Did I load my rifle? Is my weapon clean?”. No, I’m familiar with it, I know it well, and it’s going to do what it was designed to do. I’m not going to doubt, I’m going out equipped. Focused. Purposeful. Ready. I go into the Enemy’s camp and call him out to fight, and he comes out fighting. It’s no time for doubt; theres no room for error. I go in with no human backup. I am centered, rock steady, my tripod is the Trinity; I will not be shaken. I have been taken through the valley of Romans 6 and 7, and have entered into the victory field of Romans 8. Sure, there will be more battles ahead, but I have seen the Promised Land and entered into it boldly. It is mine.
It’s great to hang out at the oasis with our fellow sojourners, lick our wounds, and clean our weapons, but it’s out in the wilderness we do battle and see the victory. The wilderness is where God fulfills His purpose in YOU.
Be sure that when you go into battle, you have the spiritual cajones to back up your sword rattling, for you WILL be tested. God’s grace will get us through it stronger and more useful for it. Stand! -Eph 6.
