Prophetic Duty

We have a Christian duty. Duty – that which a person owes to another, that which a person is bound by any natural, moral or legal obligation to pay do or perform. Fidelity to our friends. the business of a soldier or marine on guard. The business of war, military service.
Matthew 28 says to go ye into all the world.
Jude tells us to earnestly contend for the faith.
A prophet is a person who speaks God’s truth to others. A prophet isn’t just someone who tells the future. You can operate in the prophetic. You can speak truth to others.
In the Bible prophets often had both a teaching and revelatory role, declaring God’s truth on contemporary issues while also revealing details about the future.
Do your duty and let God use you in any spiritual gift He wants to give you at a given moment. Be ready to be used by God in prophetic ways. Get your head out of the ministerial class, and be used by God.
You can be an evangelist, a pastor and a teacher. You can operate in different gifts at different points in your life. You can be gifted, anointed and flowing in God, in whatever He needs from you.
Be a prophet in your own home town. God will know you’re doing your duty, even if you are not honored here on earth.
