God Gave Them Up | Coach Dave Live | 1-8-2020

“When did you first become aware of issues in the Middle East?” Asked Coach.  “For me it was during the Iran hostage crisis in the late 1970s.”  Coach doesn’t have a strong opinion on the current Iran situation.  He’s observing it and praying.

There are many football coaches losing their jobs right now.  Coach noticed that one was fired after just one year.  “You can’t build a football program in a year.” Said Coach.  “It takes at least three years.”  Obama had eight years to build his team.

Coach asked, “What is satan’s goal?”  The Huddle discussed the question.  He’s had a long time to build an organization.  Christianity has not offered an effective response.  “We must have the Mind of Christ to be able to do it according to God’s will.” Observed Coach.

We are inclined to be weak, and to sin.  Satan plays to that weakness and magnifies it.  A man in the Huddle urged everyone to “take captive every thought.”  It is a battle of the mind.

Everything that we are seeing, and hearing is manipulation.  The media we consume is all designed to confuse you and draw you away from the truth.  “We don’t have the mind of Christ.” Said Coach.  A Huddler admitted that he turned the television off over four years ago and he has discovered new spiritual strength as a result.

The devil’s goal is depravity.  He is working to make everyone’s thinking depraved.  We have become reprobate.  Reprobate people don’t endure proof or trial.  They are abandoned to error and sin.  A reprobate person is abandoned to sin and lost to virtue and grace.

Our minds have been poisoned by propaganda, lies and malice.  Coach led the Huddle through Romans 1:16 and on. He emphasized the point Paul makes four times, “God gave them up.”

This has led us to a lack of fidelity to the King of Kings and Lord of Lords.  We’ve invited all the gods of the world to be equal with Christ.  A man in the Huddle asked why the mainline churches have become reprobate in their thinking.  He pointed out that even Billy Graham once admitted there is more than one way to God.

Coach asked, “Where are the strong Christian voices?”  You cannot be a bold Christian and popular at the same time.  Someone mentioned Huckabee as an example.  That didn’t get much traction with the Huddle.

A man in the Huddle asked, “How do we get the Mind of Christ?”  The Huddle then considered 1 Corinthians 2.  Coach asked, “How can any Christian ever accept sodomy?”  He that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man.
