Today’s show includes a teaching on fear, and how to overcome fear, uncertainty and doubt.
Fear is the passion of our nature which excites us to provide for our security, on the approach of evil.
When we are afraid, fight or flight mode kicks in. When we are afraid, our brain’s frontal lobe decreases. The chemicals that appear in your brain when you’re afraid, can paralyze you with fear, and cause you to stop acting.
Re-engage your brain’s frontal lobe, when you’re afraid, so you can move past the anxiety.
Remember, God created us to not have fear. Only after Adam and Eve sinned, were they afraid. God doesn’t want us to be afraid.
Can we overcome fear? Let’s look at David and Goliath. A champion of the Philistines, Goliath, went out. He was 9 feet tall. 1 Samuel 17 tells the story. Goliath challenged the armies of Israel to fight a man.
1 Samuel 17:11 – Israel was greatly dismayed. They were greatly afraid.
1 Samuel 17:32 – David said to Saul, “Let no man’s heart fail because of him (Goliath). Thy servant will go and fight with this Philistine.
We have all kinds of stories in the Bible where people overcame fear.
Prayer is necessary for real change. You have to believe, when you pray.
You practice overcoming fear. Actively pray. The more you practice, the less afraid you are.
