Becoming born again is the first step in our salvation. Becoming sanctified over time is a lifetime process of growing into holiness, as our heavenly Father is holy. We are walking out the salvation now, with fear and trembling, because we will be judged when we see Christ. We are now in the process of being saved.

“A woman in that town who lived a sinful life learned that Jesus was eating at the Pharisee’s house, so she came there with an alabaster jar of perfume. As she stood behind him at his feet weeping, she began to wet his feet with her tears. Then she wiped them with her hair, kissed them and poured perfume on them.” (see Matthew 26:7)

The alabaster jar symbolizes the kind of devotion to Christ that allows no way to go backwards, everything we have is given to Jesus. No turning back, and no cheap salvation. You have to burn the bridges to the past, in repentance, and devote yourself 100% to Christ to truly be saved. It is a daily devotion to Him which results in sanctification over time.

Acts 20:21 – repentance and faith. REPENTANCE toward God (acknowledging sin, asking for forgiveness, a change of heart, mind and behavior) and FAITH toward our Lord (devotion and trust completely in Him).

Jesus has to be Lord, not just your Savior. He is our King. We are His loyal servants.

“The Gospel is the Good News that God became man in Jesus Christ. He lived the life we should have lived and died the death we should have died-in our place. Three days later, He rose from the dead, proving He is the Son of God and offering the gift of salvation and forgiveness of sins to anyone who repents and believes in Him” Dr Rice Brooks
