Learned Helplessness

Description

The devil has built a team. For most of us, our Christianity has to do with just myself and our own lives. We have no understanding of attacking the devil’s work. What about the guys who were running the race before me? Is our life a tag team hand off?

What did Jesus mean when he said, “All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.”  Matthew 28:18

We need to be unified in storming the gates of hell. We need to be actively helping people get out of the flood waters and onto the banks. From a jail cell, Martin Luther King, Jr. said, “In those days the church was not merely a thermometer that recorded the ideas and principles of popular opinion; it was a thermostat that transformed the mores of society.”

When early Christians entered a town, they were agitators, pressing on, a colony of heaven, called to obey God, not man. They were not to be intimidated. They dealt with evil in their day, too, including gladiators and infanticide.

Pass the Salt is doing a lot to help others. If I’m not sowing into anything, I’m not going to receive, or reap a harvest.  Some of you watching right now, have learned helplessness. You are so helpless. You want someone to come pull you out of the floodwaters, but you aren’t lifting a finger to help yourself. Plant. Water. And you will receive.
